Just for fun, let's review an album, since I'm running out of new cool songs to go through. You might call it heresy not to review something better, like, Dark Side of the Moon, but you know I don't like reviewing albums unless it's on a whim. Three Head presents a curious chant with the … Continue reading CHAOS NOW* by Jean Dawson

Lee Jin Ah(이진아) – Rum Pum Pum
A challenging and crazy progressive rock ... ballad? Of sorts, Rum Pum Pum is mysterious, it sounds Christmasy but the rock part unsettles that quite a bit. I have very little idea how Ms. Ah even wrote this song... regardless, high potential!
Kehlani – Nights Like This
I don't listen to this often, so Kehlani might respond with her lyrics to my thoughts: On some nights like this, shawty, I can't help but think of usI've been reminiscin', sippin', missin' yaCan you tell me what's with all this distant love?If I called, would you pick it up? And my answer is, yes. … Continue reading Kehlani – Nights Like This
Why Don’t We – Fallin’
With a powerful drum sample, the song uses falsetto and autotune in a careful way, especially with the feeling that they are showing how crazy the love is, by avoiding the rhyme "you are my muse, I feel so blue" that is so common in most grunge type songs. Well done! Maybe, I'll just keep … Continue reading Why Don’t We – Fallin’
Nina Simone – Sinnerman
Feelin' Good seems to be the only song I can truly enjoy from Nina. Sinnerman is close, but something seems lacking. I think I enjoy the little bit of swing and jazz from the Feelin' Good. Sinnerman goes along for a while with a soulful feel. It just doesn't feel it completely feels up my … Continue reading Nina Simone – Sinnerman
Joji – Glimpse of Us
It's a slow ballad, but it seems alright. I dunno why some say it's similar to Michael Bolton, I feel it's less than the bombastic prowess we're used to from Mr. Bolton.
Makari – Phantom
A valiant effort, it's very clear this guy is either an amateur or the sound mixing is very bare. Either way, he proves the "phantom" part of the title, but perhaps he fades into obscurity all too soon. A shame. (60/100)
以梦为食 – Yu Peng Chen
It's really unusual to hear Yu Peng singing a rocking song with some minor elements of fast-talk/rap, which forms a very different feel from his usual stuff. And it's not like the elements are too similar to normal rock either, it's very clear he has a quirky choice when he's not doing his OST's. I … Continue reading 以梦为食 – Yu Peng Chen
Robyn – Dancing on My Own
I did not realize this was the famous "I'm in the corner, watching you kiss her" hit. A curious song, but seems a little bit lacking something to fully enter my favorites. (Tentative grade: C)
various Tamil/English review
A fellow music lover recommended me some Tamil songs (see below), which I review some that seem more interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nRvqemGydw&list=PL2lHdgtZXsiU4gyaQiCotuIxnYLc4VOPr&ab_channel=AnirudhRavichander-Topic Arabic Kuthu 's Autotune is a little too on the nose for me, I feel. Swipe Right Material has a more relevant message but same issue, hard to deal with the autotune Suthudhe Suthudhe sounds … Continue reading various Tamil/English review
