Hot, arguably even sexy, Lena successfully fulfills the "love sick/crazy" woman who even tells her love about her underwear and how she's stalking him, circling around him like a satellite. Indeed, the song is catchy and deserved to win Eurovision. However, I will note that it does get a bit dull over time due to … Continue reading Lena – Satellite

Brave Enough – Lindsey Stirling feat Christina Perri
Excellent violin-playing, a decent voice, combine together to make a pretty good song. On top of that, it isn't overly catchy, so it hardly ever gets old. I think it's also underappreciated since this song does not rank high in popularity in either artist's repertoire. 95/100.
Exo – Growl
though the lyrics basically translate to the classic "the animal/beast inside of me", the tune is uber cool. I love the build-up of verses, especially "eureureong eureureong eureureong dae" (Growling growling growling). The rhythm is very sleek, and though the rap is difficult to get past, the rest of the song is really doggone cool. … Continue reading Exo – Growl
Britney Spears – Circus
Though highly repetitive, Circus is a very catchy hit. "All eyes on me, I'm the center of the ring", indeed. It has even made my top 100 a few times.
We shall never surrender – clocks and clouds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqKhe4ZNtdo Epic indeed, We Shall Never Surrender is a pretty cool song. 85/100.
Youtube top 10 most viewed review
I decided on a whim today I would shortly review youtube's top 10, skipping the ones already reviewed. Despacito: As mentioned before the four chord progression is lazy, and the lyrics about sex make it even worse. But you can't deny it's catchy, and the slowing down at "despacito" was smart enough to make me … Continue reading Youtube top 10 most viewed review
5/21/2018’s Weekly Discovery
This week was sadly of no song of huge notice, with bitch, a four chord piano song (whaaaaa???), a bunch of themes from games/movies/whatnot. Finally, there was a repetition with Timeflies' Alkaline, which was already in my favorites. The song has good use of silence as clearly shown from the audio visualizer. I cannot completely … Continue reading 5/21/2018’s Weekly Discovery
Confident – Demi Lovato
I can see why I added this: it is relatively catchy and the message isn't bad. However, the chorus is arguably repeated far too many times, and even the few unique verses are not especially deep: "It's time for me to take it I'm the boss right now Not gonna fake it Not when you … Continue reading Confident – Demi Lovato
Don’t You Forget About Me – Simple Minds
though it is a "meme song", even as usual DYFAM is not a bad song. Its lyrics are a bit thin to be analyzed-- it is just another love song inferred to be about after the break-up or separation. Even so, the tune is alright and it doesn't feel too lazy. 80/100.
The Neighbourhood – Scary Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n-AbC6GK1Y With a highly unusual melody and a dark tone set matching the title, "scary love", the neighbourhood creates a strange song, yet appealing to chill and indie tunes contrasting against cliche songs that may handle a type of "bad love". If you're tired of Despacito, this is precisely the song you need to take … Continue reading The Neighbourhood – Scary Love
