The songs rated 98 are very tough to compete against each other since they are so different. With Golden Wings, I don't want the cool electronic theme to get old, and it isn't necessarily catchy as it is simply well done. Layla is a tricky one since it's two themes in one, with both having … Continue reading Battle of the 98’s

Daniel Bélanger – Te quitter
huh ... this guy again from RYM Recommend. Why not. This song is also decent with a similar feel to the previous recommendation. It doesn't have as unique of a gimmick or vocal impression but overall it's fine. 80/100
Fous n’importe où – Daniel belanger
from RYM auto recommend... the first 8 seconds are strange and almost insufferable (I nearly instantly closed the video for that), but the song quickly picks up, and the romantic theme is quite decent, especially the light "ha ha" in the background. I like the idea that he's so in love he doesn't care, he'll … Continue reading Fous n’importe où – Daniel belanger
“Contrast” pairs
through this site, I've sometimes reviewed a great song, followed by a much worse song. Here is the collection of some notable ones and averted pairs, and their ratings. Averted: Lone Digger by Caravan Palace (95) -> This and That is Life by David Choi (86/100) Averted: She Was Mine by AJ Raphael (100) -> … Continue reading “Contrast” pairs
THE CHANCES-R ●TURN A NEW LEAF OVER
Extremely mediocre. Sounds kind of like Beach Boys. 52/100
The Synth Wars – Jack O’Reilly
Catchy and well done, this song combines two different melodies (though the second one's join is a little jarring) to create an overall epic song. Well done. 90/100
Set it Off – One Single Second
With very strong bass line supporting the melody and cool lyrics like "... your favorite f-word, but the u and the n you forgot", Set it Off supports their Midnight album well. 89/100
Hourglass Love – Set It Off
well... what the hell, why not. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this. Any how, this song presents decent lyrics and sounds precisely like a song that the band would write, despite their usual rock style. A decent song overall, I love the thematic idea. 88/100 (double hourglass B)
Set it Off – Hourglass
A curious counterpart to the fan-made lyrics with "Hourglass love", this catchy rock song with a cool rhythm fulfills the theme and hints at them liking the idea of those previously aforementioned lyrics. 88/100
Flutter – Felicity Smokes
curious minimalism, the beginning reminds me a little of touch off by uverworld's beginning. Not much to talk about here. 60/100
